ötillö world series

ÖTILLÖ is the origin of Swimrun, an endurance sport driven by the desire to expand your boundaries. Swimrun is about experiencing nature in the purest possible way, with respect for yourself, your team partner, others and for the environment.

I have been working with ÖTILLÖ since 2015 when I did my first live broadcast that lasted for 14 hours.

At the 2018 World Championships I was the first running photographer to take the audience in to the heart of swimrun and the technical trails of the Stockholm archipelago. That day i ran 55km with a Dji Osmo gimbal, an Iphone and my producer in my headphones for 12 hours.

Together with my friend & colleague we have produced most of the world series race movies since 2018.

My role at those jobs is to catch the athletes with my gimbal to get the most cinematic pictures of the place we are in, and the feeling of being in the race.

It is always a pleasure to work with Otto. He is always positive and works his hardest to maximise the delivery. He is a person who understands the need of the client and manages to convert that into a creative process to produce interesting and appealing material. Otto is very self- sufficient and does not need micro-managing, thank god!

- Michael Lemmel, Co-founder ÖTILLÖ Swimrun

Swimrun is the sport that was born from a drunken bet. In 2011 it got the name from Erika Rosenbaum, one of our ÖTILLÖ, The Swimrun World Championships, podium finishers.

It is primarily a team sport based on two persons travelling through nature and time, completely dependent on each other. The racers alternate between running and swimming along a pre-marked course in nature; it can be between islands or lakes and it becomes a seamless motion. As a team you race within 10 metres of each other and you share the experience, the fun, the beauty and the suffering. Swimrun is a new dimension!
